What Public Holidays Do We Have in 2025?

In addition to the days off provided for in the Labor Code, the holiday calendar also includes hram days, which become non-working for employees in the respective localities. Thus, Chișinău marks its Hram on October 14, Cahul on November 21, Bălți on May 22, and Comrat on August 20.
Employees who work on non-working holiday days receive double pay, regardless of their method of remuneration (hourly, daily, or monthly salary). However, in certain situations, the employer may offer a compensatory day off without additional pay.
Employees under 18, pregnant women, people with severe disabilities, and parents with small or disabled children cannot be forced to work on holidays without their written consent. Moreover, employees who are on leave or have their employment contract suspended on the holiday are not obliged to make up those days.
